I've recently learned to truly appreciate fig trees, from their ease to grow, to the edible fruit, and the fantastic foliage and 'ice crystal tops the charts on Foliage,
Eye-catching deeply cut leaves which look very much like ice crystals or Snowflakes. dark green, turning golden yellow in autumn before falling.
Grows best against a sunny wall, in well drained soil,
To encourage fruiting you'll need to restrict the roots from travelling too far,
dig down 25=30cm, and back fill with Slate or large flat stone, or even a thick plastic,
As Figs fruit best in stressed situations,
Alternatively planting it in a large container,
If planted into a nutrient rich soil, fig trees will usually produce huge amounts of new growth, lush leaves and very little fruit,
